Is Your Schedule Ruling Your Life

As the author of nearly 20 books on nutrition including the New York Times bestsellers The Fat Flush Plan and Before the Change, I know that stress is a primary obstacle in achieving and maintaining optimal health. But, last year, in the midst of promoting The Fat Flush Plan and Before the Change, traveling coast to coast to appear on The View for five weeks straight in New York and then appearing on the Dr. Phil show in Los Angeles, while “living” on the road and conducting non-stop radio and television interviews, I suddenly realized I was breaking all my own rules. My schedule was literally ruling my life-I was staying up late, getting up early, rushing around, skipping meals and many other no-no’s that were becoming increasingly detrimental to my physical and emotional well-being.
As if stress isn’t bad enough in and of itself-there is now sufficient evidence that it might also be putting on the pounds. Current research indicates that 65 percent of the U.S. population is overweight or obese. Another study shows that stress might actually be contributing to this issue-in particular, causing the build up of abdominal fat in women.
In fact, in The Fat Flush Plan, I address this very subject. The stress hormone cortisol actually activates enzymes to store fat when it contacts fat cells-any fat cells. Central fat cells are deep abdominal visceral cells, which are a fast energy source in times of stress. These central fat cells also have four times more cortisol receptors than the fat cells found just beneath the skin. Consequently, cortisol is drawn to the central fat cells, which ultimately ups fat storage in the abdominal area.
It was about a year ago at one of my presentations that I literally stumbled onto the natural remedy StressCare. For years I have always taken supplements as part of my daily health regimen, but adding StressCare proved to be a major “destressor.” Not only did it help me adapt to stress without my typical “Type A” responses, but it also helped to calm me while providing a measurable sense of clarity and control. Knowing that it keeps cortisol levels in check and therefore can help protect against tummy fat, also makes me feel that I am in sync once again with my Fat Flushing mission.
StressCare contains herbs which are blended together to work synergistically to rejuvenate the body. It also provides vitamins and minerals from natural sources, has strong antioxidant properties, supports the adrenal glands and helps improve hormonal effectiveness.
Because it has been on the market for over 25 years and has been subjected to over 100 experimental and clinical studies, I am confident in StressCare’s safety and efficacy. |
